Freelance Developer

Overview

Freelance developer based in Svrljig, Serbia since April 1998 — independent work running alongside full-time employment throughout most of that period. The freelance track spans desktop applications, web and mobile products, data crawlers and scrapers, and occasional experiments (including a C# / DirectX 3D engine), from early Visual Basic and Delphi through modern full-stack delivery.

What I do here

Freelance engagements are typically end-to-end: scoping with a client or personal goal, building, shipping, and maintaining. Responsibilities have included:

• Designing and building desktop applications for local businesses — accounting, medical records, certificate management, and internal tooling
• Delivering web applications from simple LAMP-stack sites to production SaaS-style products with payments, email campaigns, and cloud hosting
• Developing Android mobile apps for domain-specific workflows
• Building crawlers and scrapers — multi-threaded desktop tools and web data extraction pipelines
• Creating developer utilities — Visual Studio add-ins and other productivity tools for internal use
• Owning the full lifecycle: requirements, implementation, testing, deployment, and follow-up support

Domains

Work has touched local business and public-sector clients in Serbia (healthcare, education, accounting, documentation), e-commerce and consumer web, mobile productivity, and more recently IoT and smart-infrastructure platforms. Many projects were built for a specific organization or personal use rather than as agency throughput — small scope, direct stakeholder contact, and long-term maintainability mattered more than team process.

How I work

• Independent ownership — Single-person delivery from idea to production, without a larger team structure
• Breadth over specialization — Willing to pick up whatever stack fits the problem: VB and Access in the early 2000s, .NET desktop, PHP web, Android, Node/Angular/Azure, or modern TypeScript full-stack
• Practical delivery — Focus on working software for real users — clinics, nurseries, restaurants, organizers — not demos alone
• Parallel to employment — Freelance projects continued through Ilumnis, Ennovative, Prime, and Endava years, often as evenings-and-weekends or between-role work rather than a single continuous block
